The COSA 9610™ Wobbe Index Meter's measuring principle is based on the analysis of the oxygen content in the process gas after combustion of the sample. A continuous gas sample is mixed with dry air at a precisely maintained constant ratio, which depends on the BTU range of the gas to be measured. The fuel air mixture is oxidized in a combustion furnace in the presence of a catalyst at 800°C, and the oxygen concentration of the combusted sample is measured by a zirconia oxide cell. The residual oxygen provides an accurate measurement for the Combustion Air Requirement (CARI) of the sample gas, which can be correlated accurately to the
Wobbe Index of the gas.

COSA’s Zirconia Oxygen Gas Analyzers are widely used; not only in industries of high energy consumption, such as steel, power, petroleum/petrochemicals, ceramics, paper/pulp, food, and textile industries, but also in various combustion facilities, such as garbage incinerators and medium-to-small sized boilers, as combustion controllers, achieving a significant energy-saving effect. The oxygen concentration control ensures complete combustion, thus reducing CO², SOX, and
NOX emissions and helping prevent global warming and air pollution.

The COSA 707 is a hand held multigas analyzer for industrial and combustion processes. The COSA 707 is an easy to hold, hand-held emissions analyzers capable of measuring up to seven different gases. The emissions analyzer can be equipped with up to 6 electrochemical sensors and a CO² IR-bench for simultaneous measurements. Cells can be installed for making measurements of low CO and low NO down to 0.1ppm.The COSA 707 has a bright 3.5" TFT display with backlights and a zoom function.
